- Bt.. Rugby School. Tennant of Spratton Hall in about 1844. 4th son of Sir Thomas Whichcote, Bt of Aswrby, Lincoln. Joined the 52nd, served in the Peninsula and was present at Ciudad Rodrigo & Badajos. In 1815, by this time a Lieutenant, served on the field of WATERLOO. Anecdotally he had attended the Duchess of Richmond's ball in Brussels the previous evening. Entered Paris with the allied armies 17 July, 1815.
Promoted to Captain in 1819, he rose to being appointed General in 1871. No Issue. On his death he was the second longest surviving officer ot Waterloo. [1, 2, 3]
